Nothing to say

oh don't feel sorry for me..theres a bunch going on my head is swimming and the kids are home for the summer.  I'm sure you can relate.  You ever get to the point that you don't know what to do next you are sort of in a fog but you have great people around to guide you so you feel ok about it all.  That's me today.  I am so grateful for my close friends and of course the husband who never waivers.  He's so clear headed that I am intrigued by that.  I didn't get that in my set of genes I'm an artist that thinks chalkboard walls and vintage hats are a priority.  When we redid the house 10 years ago all I kept saying was french doors, french doors as though nothing structural even mattered. Sometimes its a bit to superficial and I'm so grateful for George the big lug dog who eyes you as he walks closely by with a rubber toy in his mouth close enough where he can run if he needs to just out of reach hoping you'll need the same rubber toy at that moment, or hides behind your legs in a thunderstorm..that's the best.  alas you know how I get when I talk George sometimes I think this should be a blog about him and his friends.  It's almost the 4th and I got one of those wonderful e-mails the ones you stop to read but you really want to delete and it hurts to slowdown and take it in cause your too busy.   They are almost always forwarded  from my mother. The funny thing is as cliche and redundant as most of them seem if I stop and breathe and take them in they are rich with meaning.  This one was just a simple reminder to remember the soldiers this weekend.  Funny thing is we would be planning the BBQ and it would be so easy to get caught up in July 4ths festivities that I sometimes forget that .  So I wanted to just give a shout out to the soldiers and their families and thank them for the privilege of spending the 4th with mine.

Missing Sophie

She was an angel, so helpful, so loving, so thoughtful, so charming, so talented.  She's back in Atlanta with her mom but I enjoyed every second together!  We even had a photoshoot that she was a major part of.  So thanks Sophie for coming and making my life super easy !! I love you.  These photos are just previews of a very exciting project I'm working on.  I promise to keep you posted.  I love watching the collections at work, the simple stripe fabric taking on a french flair and the Kimberly Cheater looking so lived upon.  As back drops Amanda Fleur and Prelude just
giving us beautiful color in the natural surroundings.  Hey by the way I love when you come around to my raffles and leave your wonderful comments.  I promise I'm listening.  I count you as my close blogging friends that come around to each and every post .  I wish I could respond in person i do try but my creative side must be working in order for me to keep it all coming at you. So stay inspired. Love what you make and do and keep coming back for inspiration.  I rely on that.  The raffle is tomorrow for previous post and it will be posted by Wednesday. Good luck!

It's never to late!

I have to say I'm so grateful that I can be open.  I didn't say it was easy but I do try to stay open to others ideas and constructive criticism.  I think a better term is suggestions.  I do listen to advice but if I sense a tone...you know what I'm saying..I shut down and can't hear anything because the tone or attitude is so loud.  We all think we know what our business needs and that's probably when it's time to shake things up.  Someone approached me about a shop facelift and I was open but scared....I hate change but then again I remained open.  I just felt it was an expense that I could do without.  So when Mary Tucciarone suggested in a very loving way, I might add, that the show was looking the same and a change up would be fresh and exciting as hard as it was to hear I knew I needed to take a look.  When a close friend wants to help and is coming from a sincere place its time to face the music. Mary had tapped into a big fear of mine that we all have as shop owners which is a stale environment. No can do!!!  So three days later and lots of hard work my investment has paid off hugely.  I can't believe I'm in the same house!! (that's where my shop is!!)  So for three days starting June 11th from 9-6 come and see what Mary has done!!  When its all done there will be lots of photos I promise!  Please e-mail me for her contacts if you are at all interested in her incredible talents.  House or shop she's on it!!  I just don't see a way to add her e-mail...sorry folks.  The next item up is the show and for those of you who can't make it in the next three weeks will be a fatquarter raffle for Dance with me!!!!!  If you want to get in on a terrific raffle today go see Nancy Deweir Geaney over at Dark Horse farm and get yourself a pony!!  There will also be plenty of Ponies at the show for your little ones. Below are just a few of the items that we will have available at our handmade Sis Boom Show. Last reminder for three days only Sis Boom fabrics are available at the show in Ct! Oh and by the way before you leave don't forget my hug!!

Lovefest!!

I've blabbed about these guys before I'm still unsure of who's who cause its one big happy family!!
So let me present Marie Madeline Studio! These folks love the excitement of creating and they are happy to share ideas!!  The Long Ladies also do patterns so now you too can make their sweet brand of clothing!  I love these photos of the happy colorful girls who I'm sure are part of this amazingly talented family. Next up would be girlfriend Anne Bolles Galeone of Fire Fly Hill Designs who makes the most amazing items from Sis Boom Fabrics. Make sure to check out her blog.  I think she has every fabric we've ever created!!!  But look what she's created for our show.   The most fabulous dog leashes ever!!!  We are so happy with them! Thanks Anne for all the pooch love!  Hope you make it to the show!! Lastly is wonderful Kristen from Gock's Frocks who I was fortunate enough to meet at Quilt market who was also goo goo over April Cornell almost as much as me. Well Kristen greeted me with the most incredible skirts for girls at market and I can't stop looking at them. Well guess what she's coming to the show in Wilton, CT. and she's bringing more. I almost forgot my girlfriend Simone Howell who will one day be the next Tory Burch for her infinite pizazz and style. Check out her bags cause you will definitely want one. She brought the most beautiful bag to me at market.!!  She doesn't quit either look what I just stole from her blog...yes that amazing dress at the bottom. All of these women have the unique ability to make color an experience and to you I dedicate this post. Thank you for enriching my life.  6a00e54f14327c883401156fabbbdf970c-500wi 6a00e54f14327c883401156fabc69b970c-500wi
